Basketball: The Team Show-off Sport
Everyone loves basketball. How could you not, what with the fast pace, the team coordination, and of course, those slam dunks. NBA basketball is the only sport that has special contests that highlight individual players, instead of the organization as a whole. NBA players are encouraged to not only work as a team, but also express their individual style. Pretty cool no matter how you look at it.

National Championship Basketball Coach Shares Her Secrets for Winning
Greensburg, PA (PRWeb) March 8, 2007 -- Jerry Salandro of Landro (www.landro.com), interviews National Championship basketball coach Darcie Vincent in a Podcast entitled “Coaches Across America." Vincent talks about using Landro to execute their game strategy better then the opponent. The podcast can be found at: http://www.talkshoe.com/talkshoe/web/talkCast.jsp?masterId=2850.
Vincent uses a video presentation product called Landro. She categorizes specific actions or specific players so she can get the perspective of a player’s entire game at once, rather than having to fast forward or rewind a VCR. She also noted that the Landro play analyzer allows the team to retain information longer since there is no constant rewinding that disrupts players’ attention spans.
Vincent said that her players come up to her days after a game and ask to use the tool to watch themselves and see where mistakes were made. Landro, Vincent says, allows players to evaluate themselves quickly and efficiently and see the tendencies they display in a game.
“For them to see it is much more effective then me telling them every time,” Vincent says. “They’re not going to believe you until they see it.”
Coach Vincent also uses Landro to compare and evaluate team prospects. Vincent receives five to seven tapes per day from prospects or interested players. The Landro play analyzer allows Vincent to categorize the prospects into certain groups, such as point guards, and compare them against one another quickly and easily.
“There’s no way a coach has that much time to sit down and evaluate the whole tape through,” Vincent says of tapes sent in by prospects.
Overall, Vincent sees a tremendous benefit in using the Landro play analyzer system.
“It’s a huge difference,” Vincent says of using the Landro play analyzer. “I don’t even know if I can fully explain it in an interview. If you’re a coach you understand. It’s not the amount of effort that goes into studying video it’s the time wasted doing the back and forth thing on the videotape, with Landro that’s all gone.”
The Landro interview with Darcie Vincent, as well as other Landro podcasts, can be found online at http://www.talkshoe.com/talkshoe/web/talkCast.jsp?masterId=2850.
